| Overview of the Position | Recalled U.S. Magistrate Judge Edmund F. Brennan is seeking applicants for a half-time (i.e., 20 hours per week) Term Law Clerk position. The incumbent will assist Judge Brennan by completing research and writing on prisoner civil rights, habeas, and social security appeals cases. This will include substantively reviewing pleadings, preparing bench memos, and drafting orders on matters pending before the judge. The position is available for an immediate start date of employment and is tied to Judge Brennan’s continued service as a recalled magistrate judge. Judge Brennan’s current term of recall service has been authorized through October 2025 and an extension to October 2026 will be requested. A weekly work schedule is negotiable. The selected candidate will be expected to work via telework and may accept (or hold) another half-time position in the Federal Judiciary to obtain full-time status. |
